Dairy awaits outcome after undercover video

IT has been more than a month since an animal welfare group released video footage of alleged animal abuse that occurred at an upstate New York dairy, and owners of the facility are still waiting to hear if charges will be filed. Local news media reports indicated that the undercover video in question was a year old when it was aired on national television in late January. District Attorney Jon Budelmann has refuted statements from Mercy For Animals -- the group that obtained the video at Willet Dairy -- that he refused to prosecute the case. Budelmann said he is waiting for the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to complete an investigation before he can act.
