Milling efficiency and feed safety products create mutual benefits for FeedCo

Introducing changes which benefit customers and create an advantage for the feed manufacturer sounds like a win-win situation, but that is just what has happened since FeedCo in County Durham began using two products manufactured by Anitox, a global business which develops and produces feed safety and milling efficiency solutions. One has improved milling efficiency, generating cost savings, while the other allows the company the reassurance of greater feed safety for its customers. There could havebeen few more powerful demonstrations of the need for higher safety standards at all stages of the food production and distribution process than the recent nationwide Salmonella outbreak in the United States of America, in which more than half a billionshell eggs were recalled and over 1500 consumers taken ill. The incident, which attracted global media coverage, all of it negative, underlined the fact that food safety is an issue that no longer affects only retailers and processors, but increasingly all those involved in the food chain from farm to fork.
