Oil majors back plan to improve transparency

International oil majors and host countrires to oil and mining operations broadly endorsed June 17 a UK-led initiative to boost transparency over payments made and revenues received by multinationals in resource-rich countries. At a London conference, the majority of representatives from 31 countrise and 17 oil and mining firms endorsed the Extractive Industry Transparency Initaitive (EITI).
