It starts with the Oscars, then the BAPTAs (as the 'UK Oscars' are catchily titled) and the Golden Globes: suddenly every industry, from attorneys to plumbers, thinks it is a good idea to award each other prizes. Sad to say the UK window industry is no exception. There used to be the Glassex Awards -associated with the exhibition. The culmination was the ceremony at a big venue in central London - tuxedos, posh frocks, overpriced booze, the host a waning comic or chat show presenter. In fact, the works.
