'Market raiders' are set to seize more of the market from over half of the industry next year, according to research from the new 1st Edition 2003 Plimsoll Portfolio Analysis: Windows & Doors. Simply hanging n to sales has proven a serious problem for companies in 2002. A third of the industry failed to grow at all. Yet a group of 242 companies, Plimsoll calls 'market raiders' captured 6 percent of the market and grew by a staggering 32 percent on average -a growth four times the industry average. Given the aggressive nature of these 'raiders' many companies are set to suffer next year. Named and analysed in the new 1st Edition 2003 analysis are a third of the industry that are set to be hit the hardest. These 228 companies are falling behind dropping almost -10 percent of sales over the last 12 months. Plimsoll believes these companies are in danger of withering away.
