Development of conductive multilayer resin fuel tube

We have developed electrically conductive resin fuel tube of multilayer construction using reactive adhesive of Ethylene-Tetra-Fluoroethylene (ETFE) - The new fuel tube can reduce fuel evaporative emission compared with current fuel tube of the same inner layer wall thickness because ETEE (inner layer) itself has less fuel permeation, and in addition, bonding layer formed with the reactive adhesive also functions as a barrier against fuel permeation. The new adhesive has excellent adhesive strength between ETEE and Polyamide 12. This paper describes the material characteristics, tube performances, processability of the tube and bonding mechanism.
