Port of Long Beach OKs Study on New Crude, Gasoline Terminal

The Long Beach (California) Board of Harbor Commissioners on March 8 voted to approve a letter of intent with Vopak Terminals North America to study development of a 28-acre site for a deep-water terminal for crude oil and petroleum products including gasoline. “The preliminary agreement between the Port and Vopak sets basic deal terms and green-lights an environmental impact study of a liquid bulk terminal for petroleum tanker ships,” according to a Port of Long Beach (POLB) press statement following the vote.
