PwC Survey of Auto, Utility Execs: Grid Upgrades Needed for More EVs

A recent PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) survey of 200 executives in automotive, utility, energy, technology and government sectors found that electric grid upgrades are needed to support broader adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) around the world. "Approximately one-third (33.8%) of respondents felt the lack of investment to modernize the grid is a primary roadblock preventing the widespread support of EVs," according to PwC. "In addition, the lack of capacity during peak energy consumption hours also is a concern, as indicated by 31.1% of those surveyed."
