A simple, effective and affordable way to ward off garden problems. Living in the South, in our warm subtropical climate, can be both a blessing and a curse for the home gardener. Our long growing seasons allow us to have some sort of crop in the ground virtually year round. Our soils get a lot of use, constantly being called upon to bring forth a new crop. The long, warm growing season also brings its share of difficulties. We fight a constant battle against an army of diseases, insects, viruses andenvironmental factors that sometimes makes vegetable gardening very frustrating. While there is an arsenal of chemicals and cultural practices to help combat these evil forces, perhaps one of the most overlooked methods of problem prevention is crop rotation.
