It would be impossible to make any mention of my enameling work without acknowledging Harold Balazs and his spirit and wealth of knowledge regarding all art mediums that he has so generously shared as my mentor. It began 40 years ago when I, as a student, first met Harold "schussing" from a desk in the art room at Gonzaga University, demonstrating his method of skiing a mountain - straight ahead without reservation. It was an astonishing encounter with an artist who filled the room with his enthusiasm at being alive and need to share that with those around him.
