LNG Import Trends Still Look Weak

In a year when U.S.domestic natural gas prices set new highs,the LNG import safety valve has been stuck in a mostly closed position.Most terminals have been and are loafing along at less than half of capacity.Even higher gas prices overseas are luring the tankers away from the U.S.,according to EnVantage consultant Terry Ciliske.Last summer,Ciliske compared futures in the U.S.and the United Kingdom through as far as December,and saw that the trend of higher overseas prices would continue.
