Total acquires 40% stake in Kenyan exploration blocks

Total announced today that it has acquired a 40% share in five offshore exploration blocks in the Lamu Basin off Kenya, aiming to explore for both oil and gas. With the acquisition, which is subject to approval of the Kenyan authorities, Total will gain a 20% stake from Anadarko, a 5% stake from Cove Energy and a 15% stake from Dynamic Global Advisors.
