Gazprom CEO says investments are strategic and not merely financial transactions

Gazprom chief executive Alexei Miller has said the company’s investments are intended to position the company as a global energy player with an integrated vertical network ranging from exploration and extraction to transport, storage, marketing and distribution right down to the end consumer. “E.ON Ruhrgas, BASF and our Italian partners such as Eni are part of that network,” Miller said in an interview with German weekly news magazine ‘Der Spiegel’.
