Flavonoids are a broad class of low molecular weight,secondary plant phenolics characterized by the flavan nucleus.The family includes flavanols,flavanones,antho-cyanidines,flavones,and flavonols.Most of the beneficial effects of flavonoids are attributed to their antioxidant abilities.
