US OIL & GAS: Gas rig count steadies, oil count drops (7 December 2015)

The US gas rig count and Henry Hub spot prices have remained rangebound, while the US oil rig count and spot price show stronger downward trends, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration and service group Baker Hughes. Rigs - The count inched up 2% to 192 from last week, when rigs were at their lowest since the EIA’s standardised data began in July 1987. The figure was down month on month (-4%) and year on year (-44%), but has held between 189-200 since September.
