North America - Storage Atmos Energy announces open season for 15bcf storage project

Atmos Energy has announced that it will be running a non-binding open season to gauge interest in its proposed Fort Necessity underground gas storage facility. The proposed salt-dome gas storage facility is to have an initial capacity of 5 bcf by 2011, expanding to 15 bcf as two additional caverns come online by 2014. Atmos has also said that further caverns are possible if market conditions are favourable.
