Statoil looks to the stars to reach 'the final frontier' of gas drilling

Statoil has proved it will go to new lengths to conquer “the final frontier” of Arctic oil and gas production after signing a partnership agreement with NASA. The Norwegian company and the US space agency will jointly explore a range of technologies to assist E&P under a five year deal focusing on supercomputing, materials, robotics, development of new tools, and communication optionality.
