ACT works on Wolf Creek Dam

ONE of the most urgent projects in the US Army Corps of Engineers extensive dam-rehabilitation programme is that of Wolf Creek Dam at Cumberland River in Kentucky. High wafer pressure has eroded the limestone layer beneath the dam and deteriorated the strength of the structure itself. Water seepage creates cavities that weaken the foundation and the embankment. The plan is to stop this seepage by installing a grout curtain and a concrete diaphragm wall, which will run along the entire length of the embankment.
