US Gulf: Specialty potash prices going up

Distributors in Florida and elsewhere in the southern US report they have been warned by some suppliers of sulphate of potash magnesia that prices for the specialty product will rise about $20/st in Q1. So far most of the market chatter has come from customers of Intrepid's Trio product line. However, Florida customers of Mosaic's K-Mag expect the producer to follow suit, raising likely costs for sulphate of potash magnesium to $370/st FOB in the region. The product is important to citrus growers, among others.
