BC Transit takes the next step - Twenty New Flyer buses will operate as the world's first fleet powered by hydrogen fuel cells

This is not a test. The quantum leap by BC Transit to put the world's first full fleet of fuel cell transit buses into operation surpasses all previous prototypes and demonstrations. The age of hydrogen fuel cell propulsion has dawned. Within two years, in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics, 20 New Flyer zero emissions vehicles will operate out of Whistler, BC, Canada. This adventurous look to the future encompasses the vision of New Flyer, Ballard Power Systems fuel cell technology and hybrid propulsion from ISE Corporation, with backing from the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada.
