Innovative security concept for endogas generators guarantees compliance with legal regulations

In its plant Gaggenau, building 131 of the site in Rastatt Mercedes Benz operates seven endogas generators to supply the carburising- and hardening furnace with a protective gas atmosphere. To adjust the facilities to the current euro-pean statutory provisions of explosion safety, the company charged the institute IBExU and Air Products to develop a new explosion safety and engineering concept for the generators. Through a combination of technical innovation and accordingly adjusted process regulations the facility now complies with all legal requirements. In addition Mercedes Benz Werk Gaggenau yields economical advantages by the new concept too.
