An essential first step in the design process, a concept drawing can be put together in one of two ways, as Andrew Duff, Director of Garden Design at Inchbald, explains...What is a concept? The dictionary definition is: The aim of conveying a style, idea or mood before it is incorporated into the final product' - and in garden design we use the word to explain the part of our design process that requires us to think outside the box', capturing the the to think outacter of a design before it is fullyplotted out. The communication of a concept is nearly always visual and it is often possible for a designer in any discipline to realise a given concept - for example, if we gave your concept to a teapot maker, they would be able to design a teapot evoking it.
