Australia's Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilizers announced August 5 that Korean technology giant Samsung will invest some A$40 million (US$33.7 million) in the "Collie" coal-to-urea project in Western Australia. The investment deal follows on the heels of Samsung and IKPT of Indonesia winning the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the A$3.5 billion (US$2.8 billion) urea project (see Gasification News 06/10/09).
