Cancer research improves our understanding of cancer biology, which leads to the discovery of novel diagnostic approaches and effective therapies for cancer [l]. Most cancer treatments are effective in only some patients undergoing therapy, thus, there is a tremendous need to improve the outcome for cancer patients by enhancing molecular diagnostics and biomarkers are instrumental in making that transition [2]. Some cancer research that may enable the development of novel diagnostic and interventional strategies are highlighted in this article. With focus on the most up-to-date molecular diagnostic cancer research findings, the present article provides a wealth of insights into better understanding of the molecular biomarkers for monitoring and predicting therapeutic effect in cancer.
