SWITZERLAND Swiss speciality chemicals firm Ciba is planning to strengthen its Coating Effects business with a number of acquisitions over the next few weeks.Announcements will be made soon,the company said.Coating effects is an area Ciba is building-up.Other under performing business areas are being re-evaluated.A company-wide restructuring that will cut back 2,500 jobs by the end of next year is underway.Ciba's paper business,which has suffered because of a shift by many manufacturers to Asia,is under strategic review as is its inks business.
