Statoil assesses Sleipner Ost find

Statoil has made a small gas/condensate find in wildcat well 16/7-10, which was drilled 16km northeast of the Sleipner 0st field in the Norwegian North Sea. The purpose of the well was to prove petroleum in Palaeocene reservoir rocks (the Ty formation). A thin gas/condensate column was encountered in a 115m (377ft) thick reservoir with the expected reservoir quality. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said the licensees would now evaluate the find together with other nearby discoveries.
