What impact will the changes to the WEEE Directive have?

The main change that will affect the building services industry is how luminaires with removable LED modules will be categorised and dealt with. Since LEDs became commonplace in the market there has been a great deal of discussion about how they should be categorised under the WEEE Directive with some arguing that luminaires which contain LED modules should fall into the revamped Category 5 for luminaires and others suggesting that they should sit in category 13 for lamps.
