Visteon targets large interior parts

A paper at Eurotec 2011 writ-ten by Christian Bey, AlainChoquet and Dominique Vallignyat Visteon discussed a technology called Visteon Injected Expanded Polypropylene (VEEPP), a foamed PP injection moulding technology for making lighter instrument panels.The technology is based on a core-back moulding system used with a foaming agent to create large PP parts in visible applications. Core-back moulding used with Mucell microcellular technology can also work in the VEPP system, but only to make non visible parts, and the paper does not look at that approach.
