EXTRUSION Battenfeld Cincinnati will launch the GL version of its solEX series of single-screw extruders at K 2013. The "GL" stands for gearless - a new drive system that does not use a gearbox. The high-torque motor is more energy efficient than the standard motor-drive combination. Other benefits include low noise and vibration, and virtually no maintenance requirements.
