PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-friction sliding member for a gearless drive mechanism having extremely excellent low-friction property and excellent abrasion resistance and stably exhibiting the low-friction property, and provide a gearless drive mechanism oil to be applied to the sliding member.;SOLUTION: The low-friction sliding member for the gearless drive mechanism has a sliding part obtained by applying a coating of a hard carbon film such as a diamond-like carbon to one or both sliding faces of members mutually sliding in the presence of a gearless drive mechanism oil composition. The hydrogen content of the hard carbon film is 20 atom%.
