US-based aerospace company Northwest UAV Propulsion Systems has bought an EOSINT P 390 laser-sintering machine from EOS of Germany to produce polyamide aircraft components directly from CAD models.The company is using the machine to fuse powdered polyamide to create a variety of parts,including close tolerance components for unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)manufactured by its customer Insitu.
