Kissing venous malformation of the lips.

A 48-year-old, otherwise healthy Caucasian man was referred for congenital lesions of the lips that had undergone very slow growth during his life. On the left side of upper lip we noted a bluish, soft and easily compressible nodule with a blackberry-like appearance (figure 1). A similar lesion was situated with a bluish papule and a nodule on the lower lip, which "kissed" it during closure of the mouth. Histological examination of the lesion featured ectatic, thin-walled vascular spaces in the lamina propria, thus confirming the clinical diagnosis of a venous malformation.
