Has the time come for using intrathecal baclofen in neuropathic pain?

In this issue, you will find a paper by Kumru et al., entitled 'Effect of intrathecal Baclofen on evoked pain perception: an evoked potentials and quantitative thermal testing study'. In this study, the processing of thermal stimuli was examined in 11 patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) after intrathecal baclofen (ITB) (Kumru et al., 2013). The results indicated that a 50-mug ITB bolus significantly increased heat pain thresholds using quantitative sensory testing and decreased contact heat elicited pain perception and contact heat evoked potentials' amplitude.
