In actuality, there are 15,291 lakes of 10 acres or more in the North Star State, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). What's more, the combined miles of all the state'slake shoreline — 44,926 miles — add up to more than the combined lake and coastal shorelines of California.
