The need for a more effective grease manufacturing process has resulted in the exploration of several alternative methods from using different base oils and thickeners to different heating methods. The most common types of grease include Lithium Complex, Lithium, Calcium, Aluminium Complex, etc. Most of these processes require high temperature reactions in a reaction vessel. Some, like clay based greases, are manufactured at near room temperatures. While the technology of reacting the oil with the thickener is well established, in general, due to the complex reaction processes used in the majority of greases produced, even slight variability in the material and/or the manufacturing process results in corresponding variability in the final product. As a result, the industry has been in search of methods to reduce variability and make the grease making process more consistent.
