From kinetic parameters V-m, K-m, and K'(s) calculated for the hydrolysis of Na-beta-glycerophosphate by alkaline phosphatase in cinnamonic forest soil, it was shown that dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) significantly affects the soil activity. This activity increases when the DMSO concentration is lower than 1 M and decreases when it exceeds 4 M. The observed phenomenon is explained by the decrease in the concentration of inhibiting metal ions due to their fixation with DMSO observed in the first case, while the interaction between DMSO and enzyme globules, which decreases the soil activity, prevails at higher DMSO concentrations.
