Little is known about reliable prognostic predictors after early administration of intensive, multimodal therapies in esophageal cancer patients. We aimed to determine whether early tumor responses (ETR) to preoperative chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy in T4 esophageal cancer patients could be significant prognostic predictors.
