Ethnobotany today: Focus on socio-economic welfare

摘要

There is considerable potential of socio-economic benefits to the tribal and rural folk through NTFPs and other raw materials. Work on newer areas of economic gains by local cottage industries, value addition, handicrafts like souvenirs, etc is emphasized. A plea is made for focused study of prospective plants during ethnobotanical field work.
