Behavioral Strategy of Two Ground Beetle Species of the GenusCarabus (Coleoptera, Carabidae) Colonizing Some Typesof Natural and Anthropogenic Biocenoses

Some characteristics of the behavioral strategies of two ground beetle species, Carabus cumanus Fischer von Waldheim, 1823 and C. exaratus Quensel, 1806 in several kinds of disturbed natural and anthropogenic biocenoses were studied. Significant changes in the seasonal dynamic of the density and sex ratio were observed as the species colonized the newly available territories, regardless of the nature of initial disturbance. These changes probably facilitate rapid colonization of new types of the environment by the species studied.
