A New Species of the Parasitic-Fly Genus Tomosvaryella Aczel (Diptera, Pipunculidae) from Middle Asia

A new species, Tomosvaryella vadimi sp. n. (the minima group of species) similar to the Palaearctic T. minima Becker and T. aegyptium Kuznetzov, is described from the Central Kopet Dagh Mountains, Turkmcnia, Middle Asia. The new species differs from the other species of the T. minima group in the bright metallic silvery pruinosity forming large dorsolateral spots on tergitcs III and IV and in large, moderately wide and elongate surstyli with angled inner and outer margins (sec figure). The diagnosticcharacters of the new species, including the structure of the male genitalia, are illustrated and keyed.
