Fruit Retention, Maturity and Yield of Eight Minor Fruit Crops in West Bengal

摘要

Among the eight minor fruit crops studied, maximum fruit set (92.05%) was noted in loquat at initial stage (21 days after flowering) which was reduced to 18.4% at final stage of maturity (70 days after flowering). At matured stage, rose apple showed maximum retention of fruits (31.86%) whereas it was lower in jamun (5.72%) and water apple (8.94%). Bael and sapota retained moderate amount of fruits up to final stage. The fruits of carambola, jamun, loquat, rose apple, water apple matured much earlier man bael and sapota. Carambola and pummelo exhibited higher yield of 141.93 and 97.24kg per plant respectively.
