A critical analysis of transplanting method of redgram cultivation adoption through demonstration.

The research study was conducted in Bidar districts of Karnataka during 2011-12, with the sample size of 120 respondents which consist of 60 demonstration farmers and 60 non-demonstration farmers for the study. The expost-facto research design was used for the study. The important findings revealed that, major proportion of the demonstration farmers were laying from medium to high adoption category (78.33%), where in non-demonstration farmers major proportion of farmers were laying from low to medium adoption category (80.00%). Demonstration farmers had more adopted the almost all nursery and main field management practices when compared with non-demonstration farmers. The independent variables demonstration farmers viz., education, land holding, annual income, mass media utilization, risk orientation and achievement motivation exhibited positive and significant relationship. In non-demonstration farmers the independent variables i.e. education, land holding, annual income, mass media utilization, risk orientation, achievement motivation and scientific orientation exhibited positive and significant relationship with their adoption of transplanting method redgram cultivation practices.
