Five female clones of teasle gourd (Momordica subangulata Blume. subsp. renigera) were evaluated to estimate the variability, heritability and genetic advance in randomized block design with three replications. Higher phenotypic coefficients of variation were observed for length of main vine (m), number of vines/plant, number of leaves/plant, fruit weight at marketable stage (g), ovary diameter (mm), number of seeds/fruit, number of fruits/plant, yield/plant (kg). Fruit weight at marketable stage (g), length of main vine (m), ovary diameter (mm), number of fruits/plant, number of vines/plant showed high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating that these traits were under the additive gene control and simple selection can be used for further improvement in these traits of teasle gourd.
