Occurrence of orchids in parts of Upper Assam Districts and Lohit and Dibang Valley Districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

An exploration and collection trip was conducted in Upper Assam, Lohit and Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh, India, on June 2001 to collect and conserve the prevailing endemic diversity of orchids. A total of 101 orchid germplasms were collected from 31 sampling site. Some of the important genera of cultivated or wild orchids collected were Acampe sp., Aerides sp., Agrostophyllum sp., Anthogonium sp., Arundina sp., Calanthe sp., Cleisostoma sp., Coelogyne sp., Cymbidium sp., Dendrobium sp., Epigeneium sp., Eria sp., Flickingeria sp., Gastrochilius sp., Goodyera sp., Liparis sp., Luisia sp., Microstylis sp., Oberonia sp., Ornithochilus sp., Otochilus sp., Papilionanthe sp., Pholidota sp., Pleione sp., Pomatocalpa sp., Rhynchostylis sp., Spiranthes sp. and Vanda sp.
