SMS Siemag to supply new high-performance hot strip mill for Baosteel

Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has placed an order with SMS Siemag for the supply of a new 2,250 mm hot strip mill. The hot rolling mill is to be built at the new steel works location in Zhanjiang in southern China. The high-performance hot strip mill is designed for an annual capacity of 5.5 million tonnes of hot strip with final gauges of 1.2-25.4 mm and strip widths between 800 and 2,100 mm.
