Siemens to provide EAF off-gas monitoring system to SDI Roanoke

Siemens Industry, Inc. stated that it has received an order to provide an electric-arc-furnace (EAF) off-gas monitoring system at Steel Dynamics' Roanoke Bar Division's mini mill in Roanoke, Virginia. The order points at Siemens VAI's extension of its patented continuous off-gas sampling and analyzing system (Lomas) into electric-arc-furnace process optimization by continuous off-gas monitoring. The company is by now, a market principal for the same technology in basic oxygen furnaces (BOF).
