First oil from Baku-Ceyhan pipeline;first LNG to China

BP,operator of the Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan(BTC)pipeline,has announced that the first cargo of oil transported through the pipeline from Azerbaijan has been exported from the Ceyhan marine terminal on the Turkish Mediterranean coast.A cargo of around 600,000 barrels of crude oil from Azerbaijan was loaded on to the BP tanker,British Hawthorn,following the completion of the testing,commissioning and filling of the BTC pipeline along its entire 1,768 km route across Azerbaijan,Georgia and Turkey,from the Sangachal terminal on the Caspian coast near Baku to the Ceyhan terminal.
