But conflicting and overlapping interests within the broader Kurdish community are now coming to the fore as Syria's civil war drags on, Iraqi Kurds continue to knock on Turkey's door for a way to achieve greater financial independence, and a much-hailed peace process between Ankara and the militant PKK group begins to stutter.
