The automation of operations in energy and maritime environments is clearly providing great benefits in terms of safety, functionality, operability and maintainability. Advanced Integrated Software-Dependent Systems (ISDS) are increasingly controlling offshore platforms' drilling and production, as well as vessel propulsion, steering, and navigation.
