Panama Canal to impose new draft restriction

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) will impose a third draft restriction of 11.59m starting on 9 May, in response to low water levels at the Gatun Lake. The restriction will remain in place until water levels at the lake return to normal. An 11.89m draft restriction will first be introduced starting 18 April. The restriction will then fall to 11.74m on 29 April.
